Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule

The official list below only shows time slots reserved not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor if a course has its final exam in this time.

Before registering, be sure to go over the Goethe exam guidelines and the terms and conditions that appear on each exam page. Make sure you register for the appropriate level of the exam.


Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Check out the exam pages for additional information about exam topics, exam conditions and conditions, and additional guidelines. If you need special accommodations due to chronic illness, hearing or visual impairment or other disabilities make contact with the exam provider and provide detailed documents when you register.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers the option of "View My Teaching Schedule", which allows faculty to locate their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a list of exam times for classes that must take an exam as per NYSED regulations. Registration

The exam schedule is available online and students are advised to review it. However, it is important to note that the final exam schedule can change at any time. Therefore, students should consult with their instructors to ensure that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also be sure to print out the official list and bring it for their exams.

Students should also be familiar with the guidelines and conditions of the exam in addition to the schedule. These are on the webpage for each exam. Upon registration, students acknowledge that they accept these conditions and terms.

Exam locations make every effort to accommodate participants with special requirements. The nature and severity of these requirements must be declared on the registration form and verified by a doctor's attestation. In addition the locations for the exam must be kept confidential.

If a student has three exams scheduled for the same day it is suggested that they contact their instructor or department to arrange an exam to make up. Although it is possible to take three exams in one day, this can cause a high stress level and affect the quality of the exam. Additionally, the instructor might not be able to offer a makeup exam on a different day.

Before taking the exam, students must prepare by studying the study material and practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that tests the ability to speak, read and write in German. The results of the test are reported using a scale from A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam receive an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies the attainment of the language level A1. This level is the first stage of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of charge. Students must bring a valid government issued ID to the test. If they do not present an acceptable photo ID will be disqualified from the examination.

Fees

You'll need to pay a fee for the examination if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the cost of the course.

Practice tests give you an overview of the style, wording and difficulty of the questions on the test. They let you assess your knowledge level, find areas of knowledge that aren't covered and increase your chances of passing the exam.

Please be aware that the exam fee is not refundable. Exam results are only sent via email and not by phone.
